This application is a powerful tool for assessing your risk of cancer. It covers 26 different types of cancer and is based on extensive research from over 350 scientific publications. The results are displayed for 10-, 20-, and 30-year timeframes and provide valuable insights into anatomical or pathological subtypes when applicable.

It's important to note that this application has been classified as a medical device with low risk and has obtained the CE conformity mark. The development of this application followed the Class I conformity assessment procedures outlined in Annex VII Module A, EC Declaration of Conformity. Additionally, it falls within the FDA's exercise enforcement discretions due to its minimal risk to patients and consumers. To utilize this application effectively, creating an account and entering accurate and complete information in the provided tabs is crucial. All the requested information will influence your risk for at least one type of cancer, so it's essential to fill it out as thoroughly as possible. While age, gender, and racial background are critical factors, all other information is optional. Once you've completed the last tab, the results will be displayed, and you can revisit them at any time by tapping your name. It also allows you to edit your submitted information to see how it impacts your results.

The lifetime probabilities of developing cancer were determined using data collected by the National Cancer Institute's (NCI's) Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program since 1973, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) since 1995. These figures were further refined utilizing hazard ratios obtained from peer-reviewed publications. Only risk factors with quantifiable risk were considered, while those requiring complex tests unavailable to the average clinician were excluded. Whenever possible, preference was given to meta-analyses.

Consequently, there may be a bias toward overestimating risk. Moreover, scientific literature continuously advances, so any figures should be considered indicative rather than precise.

This application was developed with support from Dr. Philippe Westerlinck, a highly acclaimed radiation oncologist and clinical chair at the University Hospital of Liège.
